My review will be short because it could be almost word-for-word identical to that of RecaLondon's review for Sept of 2013. Same ship, same experience, with only a few differences:
we booked thru TravelAllRussia, based in St Petersburg, Moscow and Washington DC. Our agent there, Anna was excellent. My mother and I originally booked for May of 2012. Six months prior, her home was struck by lightning and the entire second story burned. Anna moved our deposit to May of 2013. After the house was rebuilt, we decided to sell it, and move her to South Carolina ( she is 85, time for her to be near family) and Anna moved our deposit to May of 2014. No hassles, no quibbles about trip insurance!!! Our $2100 USD pp fare included the cost of the Visa, and the transfer from the Moscow airport and to the train station in St Petersburg.
The included daily excursions were very good, our guides were excellent. We took the same optional excursions as Recal, with the exception that we had pre-purchased, thru TravelAllRussia, tickets to the Kirov Ballet at the Mariinsky Theater. The Cruise Director on the ship made the arrangements for a taxi to take us to and pick us up after the performance.
Travelers on the ships were broken up into daily tour groups by language and/ or travel agency: The French group included French, Belgians and North Africans. The English group had residents from ENG, SCOT, NZ, AUS, CAN, VN, HK, INDIA, ARG and then there were just 4 of us from the USA.. We were lucky enough to be in a very small tour group of 20, so we had lots of room on the daily tour buses and weren't a huge crowd on the walks.
This was an amazing value for the price. I will probably never be able to pay Viking River Cruise prices again without feeling ripped off. The rooms might have been a tad smaller, but the meals were as good or better, and for the $$2600 price difference, who cares about 10 sq ft (if that). Who spends time in the cabin anyway???

International Benefit Arena Football Competition “Marina and River Transport Cup”
On the 15th and 16th of April 2017 the International Benefit Arena Football Competition “Marine and River Transport Cup” has taken place on the football pitch of the Moscow Spartak academy.
This sport event of such level is already the second one in Russia and it was held with support of the Federal Agency of Marine and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot), Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Rosmorport” and the sport agency “Liga Victory”.
Among the participants there were not only representatives from Moscow and Moscow region but from the other parts of Russia such as the cities of Astrakhan and Tuapse, from Tverskaya region and even from the Northern part of the country. In total there were 16 teams and of course the team of the “Vodohod” company was there as well.
We have taken part in this competition not for the first time and after the two days of the sport event it is needless to say that both the players and spectators have had a really great time despite the nasty weather.
We are also happy to say that the “Vodohod” sport fans were so supportive and encouraging that they have won the first place prize – the football winner cake!
The “Vodohod” team thanks all the participants for the great tournament!
Vodohod at Third Russian-Norwegian Tourism Forum
The Third Russian-Norwegian Tourism Forum was held on 30th of March 2017 in Oslo. The forum allows travel professional from Russia and Norway to get acquainted in order to launch mutually beneficial cooperation and increase the tourist flow between Russia and Norway. This year the forum was headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Norway Teimuraz Ramishvili and Trade Representative of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Norway Alexander Anikin.
The tourism professionals from both Russia and Norway presented their products to the audience. Representative of LLC “Vodohod” provided the forum participants with detailed information about Russian river cruises, Vodohod fleet, itineraries, program and new projects of the company such as renovation of MS Kronshtadt to 4 star level and building of brand new 5 star ship Prince Vladimir.
We expect positive results of the forum and increase of Norwegian guests on board of Vodohod ships. Guests from Norway value the beauties of the nature and are attracted by cultural tourism, so Russian river cruises organized by Vodohod are of a great interest to the Norwegians as cruises are the perfect combination of magnificent Russian landscapes and educational excursions along cultural centers of Russia.
Vodohod is always happy to welcome the guests from all over the world on board of our ships and we are sure that every guest will find activity on one’s taste!
